Writer's Block: Sick day

  • Oct. 5th, 2009 at 1:08 PM

When you get sick, do you prefer to go it alone or be doted upon by a friend, partner, or parent? Do you usually go to work or school or stay home?

View 1260 Answers

If I'm sleeping, DO NOT WAKE ME.

If not, ENTERTAIN ME.

:D

It depends on the kind of sick, whether or not I try to do stuff.

If I vomit and don't feel better, I'm staying home.

If I vomit, feel better, have a couple hours to sleep and something important to do at school, I'll drag myself there.

If I have a cold, I'm probably going.

If you broke a mirror, would you worry about bad luck even if you're not superstitious? Would you walk under a ladder or cross a black cat's path on a dare? Is there anything you're superstitious about?

I'm superstitious about the way I do things.

What if I didn't leave it to the last minute? Would it still get done? Would it matter?

Writer's Block: Would you want a do-over?

mwahaha!!

Given the choice, would you start this day over again? How about this month or this year?

No.

I feel like it would be worse, to live it over than to just expect it to be unpleasant.

I learned something last night--
had a revelation
and shouted it to the universe.
It woke us both up--
released--
and I no longer knew it.

Would you have cared anyway?

She told me her name. I haven't asked yet.

And I think that maybe
we are just too
strong for each
other and destined to
butt heads because
she knows what I am, and
takes offense and
I am too stubborn to back down.

She
calls me pretty,
to my face
even
and she thinks I'm
fun, but
can't like me because
of the things I

there is nothing we can do.

But if I
were her, I
would hate me too, I
am godless and
oversexed and

Putting legal definitions aside, at what age do you think someone can really be considered an adult?

View 500 Answers

It depends: no matter what age you are, it always feels like you're old enough to be taken seriously, but then you look back a few years later and see how stupid you were. I would say that when that stops happening so frequently, then you're old enough to be an adult.

It's the last day in office for George Bush. There's been a lot of talk in the media lately about Bush's legacy. What do you think he will be most remembered for?

The president with the worst approval ratings in history, who may or may not have had a father complex.

It's hard to know how history will judge.

I don't approve, but I don't know the whole story, either, and it's not like him leaving office is going to end all the repercussions of his actions.

German has a word for everything, like ohrwurm. Translated literally as "earworm" in English, it's the word for songs that get stuck in your head and won't go away. What earworm of a song do you most dread burrowing into your head?

Shooting stars, eyelashes, 11:11, first star in the sky, dandelion fluff...the whole nine yards, but nothing spectacular or different. Whatever--it seems to have worked so far.

It's about how losing focus can result in time-travel, so far.

And going pretty well--I kicked my wordcount in the face the last couple of days, and it's not even taking too long.
